12/28 SUP Cruise ― This year's sea payment ―
Today,I went to the sea believing the forecast of wind speed of about 4m/s.
However, when I arrived there, the
sea was surprisingly quiet and almost windless.
Windsurfing
is also not a sign of floating at all.
'This is......Wing-foil is impossible.'
The teacher suggested that I feel a little sorry
.
'Well then, let's cruise to Shichirigahama by SUP.'
With that word, the mood switched.
It is also the first drop of the carbon paddle I got at the Christmas party
.
This is rather good timing.
When I left home in the morning,
the temperature was almost0°C.
I thought it would be cold today
, but when I arrived at Enoshima, the temperaturewas rising to around 8 degrees Celsius.
The sun was out,
and there was no wind.
I wore my usual semi-dry suit and my
new waterproof boots for the first time.
When I tried putting my feet in the sea
, it was not cold at all.
Even though it was a winter sea,
it was a little strange feeling.
Along with the teacher
, I slowly paddled out to Shichiri-ga-hama on SUP.
The carbon paddle is light
and has a very good reaction every scratch.
Even if you don't put effort
in, the board will move forward quickly.
The scenery seen from offshore
has a different look than usual.
Before long,I could see the famous railroad crossing in front of Kamakura High School.
From the sea, you can see many foreign tourists taking photos in front
of the steps.
'It is not easy to see from this angle.'
While thinking so
, I enjoyed the quiet time.
Finally, try to SUP surf just a little.
However, today, unlike last week's big wave, it is calm, so the wave is small,
to be honest, a little unsatisfactory.
Even so,
I did not
push hard and I could afford to be accepted as 'Today is such a day.'
There is no intense practice,
no challenge.
Just be on the sea,
row, look, breathe.
It may have been just right for the last time of the year.
In this way,
it quietlybecame the sea payment of the year.
It was a gentle conclusion.
Also next year.
It will start again from 1/4.
This time, the days of floating, running, and challenging begin again.
Today
was an important “interval” day before that.
